There are certain brass instruments that fill very specific needs in certain genres and styles of music across the world. The alto horn, a smaller, higher-pitched cousin to the baritone horn, typically functions as a harmony instrument in large brass bands. The bugle, whose origin stems from early trumpets, appears primarily in ceremonial settings. Jean Baptiste also offers other brass instruments such as the junior french horn and slide trumpet, which are smaller versions of the single french horn and tenor slide trombone and can be played as such. Nevertheless, they aren’t commonly found in orchestral and brass bands.
Jean Baptiste is proud to continue designing and manufacturing all of these speciality instruments, and encourages players across the world to find their voice with these unique instruments. Many of these instruments are played like the popular trumpet or trombone, but produce their own distinct tone.
